Kassadee Ostermaier is a fourth-year student currently studying at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She is studying to earn a bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Education. She graduated from Enid High School in 2022, and is from Enid, Oklahoma.
She has been playing trombone for 10 years, and currently studies under Dr. Philip Martinson, and taken lessons from alumni such as Christopher Hall. While studying at SWOSU, she has participated in top ensembles such as the Wind Symphony, Jazz Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Pride of the Great Southwest Marching band, and Wild Dawgs Pep band. She has also participated with Drum Corps International, marching with Zephyrus Drum and Bugle Corp in the summer of 2024. She has performed in the Preliminary Round of the Joyce Adams Curtis Concerto competition in 2024-2025. She has been teaching trombone lessons to 5-12 graders since 2023 and loves to see her students grow as musicians. During her time in University, she participated in masterclasses with Benjamin Yates, Dr. Cory Mixdorf, Dr. Natalie Mannix, and Sebastion Vera. She has also performed alongside jazz trombonist Andy Martin, and the Legendary Count Basie Orchestra.
Kassadee’s future goals upon graduating are becoming a music educator in K-12, and teaching private lessons to middle and high schoolers. She also plans on earning her master’s degree in music education.
Kassadee is passionate about making Music Education accessible for everyone. She strives to create a safe, welcoming environment to each student.
